Reproductive and Hormonal Health

Hormones are the body's chemical messengers — orchestrating everything from energy, mood, and metabolism to reproduction, sleep, and sexual health. When they are in balance, you often don't notice them. When they aren't, you feel it everywhere. At Natura, we offer comprehensive, individualized hormone and reproductive health care for people across all stages of life — from adolescence through the senior years — with a warm, unhurried approach that meets you exactly where you are.
Our Approach
Hormone health is never just about one hormone, one lab value, or one symptom. It is a dynamic, interconnected system influenced by nutrition, gut health, stress, sleep, genetics, environment, and age. At Natura, we look at the full picture — not just whether your levels fall within a reference range, but whether your hormones are working well together and supporting your overall health and quality of life.
We combine thorough diagnostic testing with naturopathic therapies — including hormone replacement when appropriate, herbal and nutritional support, and lifestyle medicine — to help you feel like yourself again. Our goal is not to override your body's natural hormonal intelligence, but to support and restore it.
We also believe that reproductive and hormone health care should feel safe, respectful, and personal. Whatever brings you here, you will be heard.
Conditions We Support
Menstrual health — irregular periods, painful periods (dysmenorrhea), heavy bleeding (menorrhagia), absent periods (amenorrhea), and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)
PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) — formerly known as PCOS, this condition was renamed in 2026 to better reflect its true complexity. At Natura, we have long approached this condition from a multifaceted perspective — recognizing the interplay between hormonal, metabolic, and inflammatory factors that drive each patient's unique presentation. The new name is a welcome acknowledgment of what we already knew: this is not simply a reproductive disorder, and it requires a whole-person approach to care.
Endometriosis & fibroids — we offer naturopathic support for patients managing endometriosis and uterine fibroids, working to reduce symptoms, support hormonal balance, and address inflammation. We meet patients where they are — whether they are managing conservatively, considering surgery, or recovering from it — and collaborate with gynecology when needed.
Perimenopause & menopause — the hormonal transition of midlife deserves thoughtful, individualized care. We support patients through perimenopause and menopause with a range of options including hormone replacement therapy, herbal support, and lifestyle medicine — tailoring the approach to your health history, symptoms, and preferences.
Fertility support — for patients trying to conceive, we offer naturopathic support to optimize hormonal balance, menstrual cycle health, and overall reproductive readiness, and collaborate with reproductive endocrinologists when needed.
Postpartum hormone health — hormonal shifts after delivery are profound and often underaddressed. We support patients navigating postpartum mood changes, fatigue, thyroid shifts, and recovery.
Adolescent hormone health — puberty, irregular cycles, acne, mood changes, and early signs of PMOS or other hormonal conditions in younger patients are all within our scope. We offer a gentle, age-appropriate approach to adolescent reproductive health.
Sexual health & libido — low libido, vaginal dryness, and pain with intercourse are common and treatable. We address these with sensitivity and without judgment.
Urinary health — recurrent UTIs, interstitial cystitis, urinary incontinence, and pelvic floor-related urinary symptoms are all areas we support, particularly as they relate to hormonal changes across the lifespan.
Annual well woman exams — Dr. Featherman offers comprehensive annual well woman examinations, including pelvic exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and preventive health screening, in a warm and unhurried setting.
Hormone and reproductive health concerns span a wide range of presentations. Below you will find conditions we commonly support, organized by whether they tend to be female- or male-related — though many hormonal concerns are relevant across the board.
Female-Bodied Patients
Testosterone deficiency (Low T) — fatigue, low libido, mood changes, weight gain, and reduced muscle mass are common presentations of low testosterone that respond well to naturopathic and hormonal support.
Male hormone imbalances — including elevated estrogen, DHEA imbalances, and cortisol dysregulation as they affect male health and vitality.
Fertility support — male factor infertility is responsible for a significant portion of fertility challenges. We support sperm health, hormonal balance, and overall reproductive function through targeted naturopathic care.
Adolescent hormone health — puberty-related concerns, acne, mood changes, and hormonal imbalances in adolescent males are all within our scope.
Sexual health & libido — low libido and erectile dysfunction often have hormonal, vascular, and lifestyle components that naturopathic medicine is well-suited to address.
Prostate health — benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostatitis, and general prostate health support through naturopathic and lifestyle-based approaches.
Urinary health — urinary symptoms related to prostate health, hormonal changes, or other underlying causes, including urinary frequency, urgency, and incomplete emptying.
Male-Bodied Patients
Understanding your hormonal picture requires more than a single lab value. At Natura, we look at hormones in multiple ways — because different testing methods tell different parts of the story.
Serum (blood) hormone testing — the most common and widely validated form of hormone testing, measuring circulating hormone levels. We use comprehensive panels that go well beyond basic screening to include free and total hormone fractions, binding proteins, and related metabolic markers.
Urinary hormone testing — urine-based hormone panels, including the DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones), provide a uniquely detailed picture of hormone metabolism — not just how much of a hormone is present, but how your body is breaking it down and clearing it. This is particularly valuable for estrogen metabolism, cortisol patterns, and monitoring hormone replacement therapy.
Cycle mapping — for female-bodied patients with irregular cycles or fertility concerns, serial hormone testing across the menstrual cycle can reveal patterns that a single snapshot misses.
Metabolic & blood sugar markers — especially relevant in PMOS and male hormone health, where insulin resistance and metabolic function are closely intertwined with hormonal balance.
Nutritional assessment — deficiencies in zinc, magnesium, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and B vitamins all have direct relevance to hormone production and balance.
Inflammatory markers — chronic inflammation disrupts hormonal signaling and is a frequently overlooked contributor to hormone imbalances.
Genetic & functional genomic testing — certain genetic variants (COMT, CYP enzymes, MTHFR) significantly influence how hormones are metabolized and cleared.
Testing We Use
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) — we prescribe hormone replacement for both female- and male-bodied patients when it is clinically appropriate. We utilize the full range of options — including standard pharmaceutical hormones, bioidentical hormones, and compounded formulations sent to a compounding pharmacy — and work with you to find the right approach for your body, your history, and your goals.
Herbal medicine — a rich botanical tradition supports hormone balance gently and effectively. We use herbs such as vitex, black cohosh, ashwagandha, saw palmetto, maca, and many others as targeted, evidence-informed tools.
Nutritional therapy & supplementation — targeted nutrients to support hormone production, metabolism, and clearance.
Dietary guidance — food profoundly influences hormone balance. We provide individualized dietary support addressing blood sugar regulation, gut health, inflammation, and the nutritional foundations of healthy hormone function.
Lifestyle medicine — sleep, stress management, movement, and environmental toxin reduction are all foundational to hormone health and often yield significant results on their own.
Referrals & collaborative care — we work with gynecologists, urologists, reproductive endocrinologists, and other specialists when procedures, imaging, or specialist-level care are part of your path.
