Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy is one of nature's most elegant tools — using a highly reactive, oxygen-based molecule to stimulate the body's own healing processes. At Natura, ozone therapy is offered exclusively under the care of Dr. Margaret Coffey, who has received extensive specialized training in ozone medicine and personally screens each patient to ensure it is a safe and appropriate fit for their health needs.

How it Works

Ozone (O₃) is a naturally occurring molecule made of three oxygen atoms. When introduced into the body in precise, controlled amounts, it interacts with tissues and biological fluids in ways that produce a cascade of therapeutic effects:

  • Enhanced tissue oxygenation — ozone improves the availability and utilization of oxygen at the cellular level, supporting energy production and tissue repair

  • Immune activation — ozone stimulates the production of cytokines and other immune mediators, helping the body mount a more effective response to infection and inflammation

  • Reduced inflammation — by modulating oxidative stress pathways, ozone can help calm chronic inflammation that underlies many persistent health conditions

  • Improved circulation — ozone enhances blood flow and oxygen delivery, accelerating the body's natural healing processes

  • Detoxification support — ozone promotes the breakdown and elimination of toxins, supporting liver function and cellular cleanup

Conditions We Support

Ozone therapy is used at Natura as part of a broader naturopathic treatment plan for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Musculoskeletal conditions — osteoarthritis, herniated discs, chronic back and joint pain

  • Chronic and non-healing wounds and ulcers

  • Bacterial, viral, and fungal infections

  • Autoimmune disorders

  • Chronic fatigue and post-viral syndromes, including Long COVID

  • Cardiovascular support

  • Skin conditions, including infections and inflammatory skin concerns

  • General immune support and wellness optimization

Natura offers a comprehensive range of ozone delivery methods, allowing treatment to be tailored to each patient's condition and goals.

  • Major Auto Hemotherapy (MAH) Blood is drawn, infused with 12,000 micrograms of medical-grade ozone, and returned to the body intravenously. This is the most widely used systemic ozone protocol, supporting immune function, reducing inflammation, and improving oxygen utilization throughout the body.

  • High-Dose Ozone with UV Light A more intensive protocol delivering 70,000 micrograms of ozone combined with ultraviolet (UV) light therapy. The addition of UV light enhances immune stimulation and antimicrobial effects, making this protocol particularly useful for more complex or persistent conditions.

  • Ozone Injections Ozone gas can be injected directly into joints, muscles, or around nerves to deliver targeted anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects. Commonly used for musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and localized injuries.

  • Ozone Insufflation Ozone can be administered via catheter for rectal, bladder, or vaginal application — a non-invasive method of delivering systemic and local ozone effects without IV access.

  • Ozonide Inhalations Ozone is bubbled through olive oil to create ozonides, which are then inhaled. This gentle method allows the therapeutic properties of ozone to be delivered to the respiratory tract without the risks associated with direct ozone gas inhalation.

  • Ozonated Oils Ozone infused into olive oil or castor oil creates a stable topical preparation that can be applied directly to the skin and mucous membranes — useful for wound care, skin infections, and inflammatory skin conditions.
